Chair
The other day we were joined with room six with Mrs Ealam, and we had to decorate a plain old chair with a theme. My theme was cars and trucks. I did my chair with Blake, Tane and Fred from room five. We did this because there were old chairs in the PE shed that no one used.
Also we stuck the cars and trucks with pva glue then when it dried we had to put 2-3 layers of Mod Podge glue. I think next time Blake, Tane, Fred and I should not put a label on because it is just random.
Here is my group's chair.

Collage
In class we have been doing work on a collage which is based on plastic. We had to watch a video about plastic and how it is bad for the environment. We made some sea animals to stick on our collage and we added some plastic bits and some pieces to stick on. We found it hard when we had to draw the sea animals. Next time we could try and find a more easy picture to draw. The animals have good impact because of all of the bright colours and we could put a dark colour around the animals to make them stand out.

Maths DLO
In class we have been doing maths DLO's and we had to create questions around double number lines of some things we are learning to do. Jake Lochie and I did a DLO and we had to read some slides our teacher gave us . Here is our DLO.
Persuasive Writing
In class we have been learning to do persuasive writing so we had to write a persuasive letter to our principal and it was about the plastic bin liners in the bins in the classrooms. We had to use present tense, we had to have three reasons why and we had to organise your ideas in paragraphs. Here is my letter.
Dear Mrs Wallace,
I’m writing to you about the plastic bin liners in the rubbish bins in the classrooms. I think that we should stop using them. Here are three good reasons why.
Firstly, every year we use 2,000 clear rubbish plastic bin liners. That is lots of money and we could save all of your money if we didn’t use bin liners in the school.
Secondly, after school the bin liners are just put in big black rubbish bags and then thrown away into the rubbish. There is no point having plastic bin liners because we could just put the rubbish straight in the black bag also they should be banned in the school.
Finally, we only need plastic bin liners for wet things because if we don’t use bin liners for wet things then it will make the bins dirty because the wet things will dry and then the wet things will stick to the bin and then it will ruin the bin. With dry rubbish it won’t ruin the bin because it won’t stick to the bin.
In conclusion, remember that we don’t need bin liners for the bins in the classrooms because we use 2,000 a year. After school they are just put in big black bags which we don’t need and we only need the bin liners for wet things!
Yours sincerely,
Angus

The Plastic Mountain
In class we have been learning to describe when we get given a photo to describe and we had to pretend we were one of the people in the picture. We have to use present tense and extend our sentences with more detail. We used our senses to describe sights, sounds, smells, feelings and sensations. Here is my writing and the picture we were describing.
The Plastic Mountain
Another day at work sorting out empty plastic bottles and putting them in different baskets on top of this big mountain. Crunch, crunch, crunch, I keep stepping on bottles and it hurts because some bottles don’t have bottle caps on them. I really don’t like to do this but I have to or I won’t get any food, water or money. I do not like this because it smells gross and I do not want to do this because I have to cut labels off plastic bottles and it is very boring. There's so many bottles and I have to cut off all of these labels. This is going to be so boring to do.
I just wish I could afford to have a have a house but unfortunately I don’t have enough money to buy one. I have to sleep on this big mountain of plastic bottles and it is not soft it is very hard.

El Gregoe
On September 4 2018 a magician and ventriloquist come to our school. His name was El Gregoe. He performed some illusions on us that were very cool. He told us about bullying and he also told us to use your wits which stands for walk away, ignore, talk and stop and walk away. I learned to stop bullying and just get on with it. My favourite part was when El Gregoe made my friend float.

Author Visit
On Tuesday 28 of August 2018 the author Jenny Sommervell came to our school for a visit. She showed us the books she wrote. She wrote the Eel Hunt, the New Old Truck and the Day Dad Blew Up the Cowshed. her favourite one was the Day Dad Blew up the Cowshed and she also read two books to us, she read The Day Dad Blew up the Cowshed and the Eel Hunt. I learned that to be a writer is a hard process.
Here are some photos of her when she visited.

Symmetry
Today in class we have been learning about lines of symmetry. The line of symmetry is when you fold a piece of paper and there is a line that divides the paper in half. We had to get a piece of paper and fold it in half. Then we had to rule a straight line and make four different shapes with four sides, ones with over four sides and four ones with three sides.
Reading Profile
In room 5 we had to make a Reading Profile. We could put it on a google drawing or a slideshow. We had to put information like what our goal is and what book we are reading.

Fraction Art
In class we had to do a thing called fraction art. We were learning fractions like wholes, eighths, halves, sixteenths, and quarters. First we had to cut out a whole then we had to fold the whole into a half then we had to fold the half into quarters then we folded the quarters into eighths and then we had to fold the eighths into sixteenths. The fractions I used for my jelly fish was a half and eight sixteenths.

Sid
We have been learning to describe in our writing. We had to include what Sid looks like and what he does.
Sid
Sid is a cat that comes to our school, and he gets whiskers biscuits from Mrs Whitmore. He is called Sid because there is a book called Six Dinner Sid, and in the book Sid has different owners.
Sid is a black and white with swampy green eyes. He has a black smudge on his nose. Sids fur is very fluffy even though its not long. Sid has smooth white whiskers and also smooth sharp claws.
Sid is very naughty because he jumps on the tables and trolleys.
Sid is a very good hunter. One play time Sid brought a mouse to Lochie’s feet and it was still alive. Another lunchtime Sid got a bird and took it into the bush. He likes catching things like mice and birds.
Sid is very naughty but I think he can be good because he gets mice but he's naughty because he gets birds.
Picasso Portraits
In class we have been painting portraits like Pablo Picasso did. Pablo was famous for his art. We had to do a side view and the other side had to be the profile of the face, but they had to have different looks. We based our portrait on Picasso's cubism period. Here is my portrait.
