In class we have been learning to do persuasive writing so we had to write a persuasive letter to our principal and it was about the plastic bin liners in the bins in the classrooms. We had to use present tense, we had to have three reasons why and we had to organise your ideas in paragraphs. Here is my letter.
Dear Mrs Wallace,
I’m writing to you about the plastic bin liners in the rubbish bins in the classrooms. I think that we should stop using them. Here are three good reasons why.
Firstly, every year we use 2,000 clear rubbish plastic bin liners. That is lots of money and we could save all of your money if we didn’t use bin liners in the school.
Secondly, after school the bin liners are just put in big black rubbish bags and then thrown away into the rubbish. There is no point having plastic bin liners because we could just put the rubbish straight in the black bag also they should be banned in the school.
Finally, we only need plastic bin liners for wet things because if we don’t use bin liners for wet things then it will make the bins dirty because the wet things will dry and then the wet things will stick to the bin and then it will ruin the bin. With dry rubbish it won’t ruin the bin because it won’t stick to the bin.
In conclusion, remember that we don’t need bin liners for the bins in the classrooms because we use 2,000 a year. After school they are just put in big black bags which we don’t need and we only need the bin liners for wet things!
Yours sincerely,
Angus
